Prosper Canada is a national charity dedicated to expanding economic opportunity for Canadians living in poverty through program and policy innovation. They work with governments, businesses and community groups to develop and promote financial policies, programs and resources that transform lives and foster the prosperity of all Canadians.

Tax refunds and government benefits can be a major source of income for food insecure households. However, accessing benefits through the tax system is complicated and some struggle to file their tax returns and claim these benefits. from 2022-2025, the Centre supported Prosper to improve & expand services to help low-income Canadians access government benefits to boost their income and reduce food insecurity, including scaling the digital Benefits Wayfinder tool. In 2025, we committed $1 million over four years to support the Resilient Futures project, which aims to build a national network of 97 community organizations that will deliver tax filing, access to benefits services, and financial coaching.
